Seventh Kingdom Xetheus minotaur figure from Four Horsemen Studios

Blast From the Past - Xetheus

Back in 2006, Four Horsemen Studios released our very first action figure from an in-house property – the minotaur Xetheus.

Created as part of a promotion the studio called the “FANtastic Exclusive”, fans voted on every single aspect of the figure’s creation – starting with the property that the figure would come from, then onto the character, and finally to the specifics of the toy. This included the figure’s articulation, weapons, and more. This is a process that the studio would use again in the future and even incorporate into our Mythic Legions line many years later.

Xetheus himself was released at San Diego Comic Con in 2006, and was eventually part of a “wave” of figures known as The Mynothecean 7, named so because there were 7 total figures available. These included 6 minotaur variants, each colored differently in accordance with their character, as well as the main figure himself – Xetheus. The bio for this character read as follows:

The mighty Minotaur known as Xetheus was once called Memmnonn. Memmnonn's dedication to bringing peace to the kingdoms was so great that he freely gave up his life during the splitting of the lands. The sun lord Xemnoss, the most powerful of the elementals, was so moved by the selfless act that he granted Memmnonn immortality and renamed him Xetheus - son of Xemnoss. Xetheus is now a champion whose power is unrivaled by even the greatest heroes of myth and legend. He founded the capital city of Mynothecea in the center of his native kingdom of Animynthus. Xetheus and his mighty Mynothecean Minotaur warriors have dedicated themselves to overseeing and defending the land that he has been spared to protect.

While fans have long requested a rerelease of this figure, the reality is that the molds used to create the Mynothecean 7 have long since been lost, so a rerelease is out of the question. Mythic Legions has released a few minotaur figures, however (one of which is available for pre-order NOW as part of All-Stars 3), so those fans looking to add a minotaur to their collection can hunt down those mighty warriors!
