What is Mythic Legions?
Set in the Realm of Mythoss, Mythic Legions is an original fantasy setting where the heroic Legions of Light struggle to protect their world as the evil Legions of Dark work to summon their ancient gods after an age of banishment. Known as the Dark Four, these evil beings are the personifications of War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death itself. The Dark Four’s return threatens all life in Mythoss, and the struggles and battles between the factions that make up these heroic and evil armies set the stage for campaigns where you will either work to thwart the return of these evil powers, or do your part to help them destroy the realm once and for all!
What will Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game include?
We are still working out the particulars of what will be offered during our Kickstarter for Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game. However, we can reveal that since fully-modular action figures started the Mythic Legions franchise back in 2014, this new RPG’s initial offerings will absolutely include new figures that are not only awesome additions to the Mythic Legions toy line, but also fully usable as part of the new game!
Beyond these figures, Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game is expected to include a core rulebook with a comprehensive look at how to play the game.
For those who may be newer to RPGs, we will also be offering a “Beginner Box” with all the basic essentials you will need to get started on your first adventure.
In addition to the rulebooks, we are also working on a number of exciting items created specifically for this game – all of which will be revealed in the coming months as we get closer to the launch of our Kickstarter campaign.

Our goal with Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game is to make it easy and fun to play for both seasoned gamers and those who are new to RPGs. For gamers who have played RPGs in the past, the 5E 2014-compatible ruleset will be very familiar. We chose to build our game on this system because it is the most popular set of RPG rules ever created, and it will allow our game to be immediately familiar to those who have played games that use this same system.
The great thing about the 5E 2014-compatible ruleset is that not only is it popular and familiar to many existing gamers, but it is very easy to learn for those new to RPGs. Even if you have never rolled a 20-sided die before or played any kind of RPG, Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game will be easy to get started with!
What makes Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game unique?
Making Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game feel familiar with the 5E 2014-compatible ruleset, while also making it a unique gaming experience, has been our focus since we began development on the game. While the core rules and play will be very similar to other RPGs, there are some exciting elements that are unique to our game!
First off, the ability to use our fully-articulated, completely customizable action figures is an incredibly exciting aspect of our game! Never before have players been able to interact with a physical representation of their character they way that they can with Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game! These figures can not only be posed to reflect an action or attack that you are making during your turn, but the toys can also be accessorized, upgraded, and customized as your character changes and grows during their time in the Realm of Mythoss. Playing with toys and posing figures is fun, and we’ve made this an exciting part of our game.
Of course, you do not have to use the figures as part of your gameplay – it is simply one option! The rules of Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game also allow for the use of miniatures, cardboard cutouts, or even “theatre of the mind” play for gamers who prefer the adventures to remain solely in their own imagination!
Another exciting aspect of Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game is the introduction of our Faction System. The Factions of the heroic Legions of Light and the evil Legions of Dark, plus a few splinter Factions that exist somewhere between those good and evil extremes, have been a core part of the Mythic Legions story since the beginning. Our game incorporates these Factions directly into the gameplay, and players are rewarded for strategic decisions that further the goals of their chosen Faction or thwart the machinations of their greatest enemies. In Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game, you are not just concerned with your own character’s goals or even the needs of your adventure party – you are part of something bigger, giving players a unique element to how they approach the decisions that they make and the quests that they embark on.
Finally, the world of Mythic Legions is one that has both a rich, detailed narrative that has been established, along with room to make the story your own. Our game is set during an important time in the history of the Realm of Mythoss, and there are key events and characters that play a role in what is happening in the larger story – but Mythoss is a big world, and not ever story has been written. Gamemasters will have tons of established framework to work with, along with plenty of freedom to create adventures that contribute to the rich world of Mythic Legions.
